If sending letters or emails aren't working, try sending a bottle. That's what Canhür Aktuglu did with this message in a bottle self promotional piece.

Check out this brilliant self-promotional piece by Canhür Aktuglu, a German art director.  The rolled up CV sits inside the bottle perhaps the most genius thing about this is that the the cork is a home-made usb stick. You couldn't lose this in a pile of CVs even if you wanted to.
