We met with Chris Reed, who heads up Flare Studio, a newly formed content studio from BBDO whose aim to produce blockbuster content for the world's biggest brands.

Chris started his career with Fallon London at a time when it was producing advertising hits such as the Cadbury drumming gorilla and Sony's bouncy balls in San Francisco. He went on to help found Fallon Films and made films when the content was described as 'online stuff' and when no one gave it too much value or thought. Since then Chris has worked at Bigballs Media and CHI & Partners alongside brands such as Lucozade Sport, EA Sport and Lexus.

What led to you studying media and culture at university?

In all honesty, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to university initially because I wasn’t sure if I could take another three years of formal education so I took a year out and worked for part of it as well as doing a college course in media production.
