I am a recent UCL graduate, with BA Hons Politics and East European Studies, who is seeking experience within PR, communication, or public affairs, with the ultimate aim being to enter a career within political affairs.

In my final few weeks at UCL, I am taking part in the UCL Global Citizenship Programme: Voluntary Sector, which is an academy to enable students to develop and demonstrate the qualities of a 'global citizen'. The programme consists of lectures, workshops and a placement at Kentish Town City Farm. Stand out lectures for me included ‘what role should charities play in politics’, ‘how social media can change the face of fundraising’ and ‘branding, marketing and publicity’.

The placement at Kentish Town City Farm has allowed me to become engaged with a local community organisation. The placement has involved collecting and analysing data to help better understand what people in the local community think about the farm and the services it provides. As a team, we will use this data to write a report which will be used to apply for funding, in the light of funding cuts, and to highlight areas that need improving.

Whilst at University, I completed an internship in policy, communications and campaigns at a London charity. My biggest achievement was helping run one of the charity's main campaigns.Furthermore, I was also tasked with advocacy work, writing press releases, liaising with the media and promoting the charity on social media, engaging w
