We spoke to Susanna Pappacena, a second-year Business Administration student at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Milan, about her experience interning in London this autumn at FutureRising.

Susanna shared with us the challenges of working in a new country, adapting to London’s culture and the benefits of her marketing camp and social media internship.

First of all, what were your impressions of London?

Immediately, my first impression was that it is a huge city compared to Milan. In Milan, it takes 30 minutes to arrive in each part of the city but London is very different. My accommodation was in Ealing Broadway, a residential zone of London, quite far away from the city centre and from the place I work. It takes about one hour travelling on the underground to arrive at work. At first, this long distance sounded a little bit strange but after a few days I fit in perfectly with this new reality because in London it’s impossible to fall behind.
