I am creative character who is passionate about the blend between information, and creative solutions. I currently work in advertising sales for two women's weekly magazines (The People's Friend and My Weekly). I am solely in charge of both these titles classified advertising departments, ensuring I enxceed the targets set through a tactical, insight lead approach.
With the struggles print media faces, this has been a fantastic time to really get stuck in at the deep end of what I do, ensuring I am constantly researching the over 50s market to spot any trends, or insights, that allow me to create the most convincing pitch possible.
On the side, I also ensure my creative skills are constantly honed. I currently work with a freelance tree surgeon taking on responsibility to carve an identity for his business through the designing of his logo, business cards, letterheads, website and all promotional material. This has allowed me to understand a different demographic, and make sure his business communicates has a uniformed, professional image to prospective clients.
I adore the client facing nature of my current role. With the challenges print advertising faces, it has allowed me to come up with new, creative ways to make revenue for the team, such as cross-selling digital space, and working with editorial to create a more native approach to advertising.
