FutureRising visited Bournemouth University with a range of creative industry professionals. From advertising, public relations to marketing . The speakers passed on inspiration and advice for starting a career within the creative industries.
We began with talks from each of our industry guests before setting a creative challenge for the students to get stuck into.After presenting their ideas each group was able to get some feedback from the professionals, plus a prize for the winning group!
Dominic Shales, Managing Director, Lexis
Dominic is Managing Director of Lexis, a communications agency specialising in consumer and corporate PR, Digital & Social, Experiential and Design & Production. Dominic started his career working on consumer accounts in the media, sport and automotive sectors at KBH Communications (subsequently acquired by Bell Pottinger Good Relations).
Hayley Elvin, Account Manager, Lexis
Hayley joined Lexis in September 2012 after gaining a place on the agency's graduate scheme, which aims at providing the key skills and creative inspiration to form a solid foundation in PR. During her first year, Hayley worked on a range of health and wellbeing clients, including Dove, Church & Dwight (Pearl Drops, Nair, femfresh, Arm & Hammer, First Response and Sterimar) and Actavis.
Mark Ralphs, Managing Director, Bloom Worldwide
Mark is a business leader and strategist with 15 years experience of digital and social media. He’s worked with the BBC, BT, Channel 4, Lexus, the NHS, Nestlé, Toyota, the University of Oxford and more.
George Bartlett, Z Academy, RKCR/Y&R
George is part of RKCR/Y&R’s apprentice programme. He will pass on some insights on what it’s like inside one of the worlds biggest agencies. Plus advice on landing your first job.
