I would love to translate and hone the skills I've learnt from the library, the boxing ring and the catwalk to the advertising world via work schemes.

Studying History at Oxford has encouraged my interest in people, emotions and the art of communication. Outside of my degree, I have edited the Fashion Section of Oxford University's independent newspaper, The Cherwell. In this capacity I was responsible for writing, commissioning and editing articles for the weekly paper as well as its website which attracts 50, 000 page views each week. I also was tasked with formulating concepts for photo shoots, sourcing models and photographers, and directing the shoots. I enhanced Cherwell Fashion’s social media presence through Instagram and sourced interviewees through this medium. Another passion of mine is boxing. In order to promote the University's Boxing Club I devised coverage of the annual Town vs Gown match and then presented the broadcast for Cherwell TV. This involved interviewing boxers and coaches as well as initiating a crowd Voxpop. I was also selected to write a cover feature endorsing the Club for the University's Sports Annual Review. From the library to the catwalk to the boxing ring, I have learnt a diverse range of skills which would translate well to advertising. I thrive under pressure in a deadline driven environment and I relish the opportunity to engage with my varying target audience. I would love to the opportunity to apply and hone these skills in the professional advertising environment and learn much more from industry professionals through work placements.
