We started 101 to prove what creativity can do. Deployed with purpose we’ve seen how it can renew and revitalize company culture as well as build brands, and even the occasional factory. Our mission is to be a commercially inspired creative company and a commercially inspiring one too.
101 was founded in January 2011 by Laurence Green, Richard Flintham, Mark Elwood, Steve Waring (Chairman, ECD, Head of Design and CFO respectively at Fallon) and Phil Rumbol, (Marketing Director at Cadbury, and the man who bought ‘Gorilla’). A team with unrivalled experience of creative campaigning, both agency- and client-side, on brands as diverse as Sony, Stella Artois and Skoda.
We aspire to make a material difference to the brands and businesses we work on, not just an incremental one. It’s a mission that takes us deeper into client organisations than our peers and finds us executing over a far wider creative canvas than most of them too. In our first four years, we’ve created products as well as advertised them for Diageo and the Art Fund; we’ve restored Scottish Widows to category leadership for Lloyds; and we are now entrusted with the rejuvenation of Tango for Britvic.
We are 50 friendly, optimistic, curious people. All here because we want to spend our working lives as productively as possible, and all here aspiring to make a genuine difference. As such, it’s an atmosphere where everyone strives to make a consequential contribution, not simply float through the day.
